The edges are maybe getting a little softer, but the edginess will always be there. It's who I am. Honest and direct, sometimes to a fault, but it is important to me. I was told something recently that may be good advice, but is a difficult concept for me to embrace. You can't get to the next level if you don't play the game. If I have to stand alone because I don't feel the same way as my peers, colleagues or anybody else, so be it.

The tension in the "Friend or Lover?" stage when you first meet and start getting to know someone is delicious, but how about, instead of dropping oh so subtle hints about how you feel and then acting freaked out when they are acted upon, and pulling out the "I don't see us that way" line, only to resume dropping hints shortly thereafter, you amaze yourself and step over that line and do or say something to help you get what you want and make two people happy instead of resorting to manipulation and deceit based on fear? A tough one, I know. I struggle with it myself. Okay, enough venting. Bottom line. I don't do manipulation or deceit. Either way.
